"That cake will taste good. I exercised within 24 hours and I have earned a reward. I deserve it. It is not that much. " She eats the cake however even prior to she is done, her inner dialogue scolds:

"I've no control. I will need to work much harder immediately. This fitness stuff is too hard. My diet is not working. It is not worth continuing. I'm doomed to be out of shape."

In silent, subtle ways we sabotage ourselves and our dreams - we avoid an individual or situation, we provide it under our greatest shot, we provide up too early, we assume somebody is reacting negatively to us, etc. It is clear that negative thoughts hurt our chances for great achievement. With no consciously implementing positive thinking programming, our outcomes will most likely remain unchanged over time.

The beginning step in positive affirmation teaching is developing an awareness of your internal dialogue. When you do, you could be surprised at what you locate: I'm able to't do it, I never finish anything, It is too hard. These are only a few examples of common, everyday negative thinking patterns. She chooses to not eat the cake. Immediately she benefits twice - she is proud of her decision and her fitness goal is intact. Immediately she truly does deserve a reward - a healthy one!

The road to thinking positive begins by observing and studying your own inner dialogue and practicing writing, listening, and speaking positive affirmations. You will be glad you did.
